ZayRide, MyAfya and BlueWave Insurance Agency scoop top prizes as Traction Camp Comes to an End
After running a whole week of Traction Camp in Nairobi at IHub, Traction Camp came to an end on Friday. Traction Camp is a regional acceleration program aimed at nurturing startups in East Africa so as to create globally competitive, growth-oriented, mobile and digital technology businesses. It is a 6-month program that will support Growth-oriented startups in scaling their business through a tailor-made acceleration process designed to take growth-oriented enterprises and startups through a rapid-cycle competitive curriculum and matches them quickly to appropriate capital and business mentor. The program will connect entrepreneurs with the knowledge, capital and markets they need to grow their enterprises.
The climax of the boot camp came to an end marked by a demo day on the September 22nd at the iHub from 4-8PM. The main objectives of the program are: Business Model {Support rapid refinement of business models towards scalability and expansion }, Human Capital { Facilitate human capital development among core startup team members }, Investment Readiness { Increasing investment readiness of entrepreneurs }, Effective Strategies {Enable startups to design effective monetization and customer acquisition strategies } After a Careful selection of the Winners, Traction CAmp was happy to announce:

MyAfya – the most improved startup
An application that helps hypertension patients to manage their condition. The user gets access to health practitioners, save blood pressure history and share such data with care givers. We also create awareness and distribute home testing kits to be used along with the app.
