Microsoft are the Technology category sponsors in the BAKE Awards 2018

The Bloggers Association of Kenya (BAKE) are pleased to announce that Microsoft has come on board as the Technology category sponsors in the BAKE Awards 2018. The awards are an annual celebration of the best in Kenyan blogging and are now in their 7th year.

This year’s competition began on January 11th, 2018, where blog submissions were accepted in 23 categories which included business, tech, agriculture, health, fashion among others. Thereafter, a panel of judges selected the best 5 nominees from the successful submissions in each of the categories. The competition is now in the public voting phase which will close on April 30th, 2018.

Sebuh Haileleul, Microsoft General Manager for East Africa in a statement said “Microsoft is delighted to be part of this year’s BAKE Awards.  In a world being transformed by technology every day, it pleases us to see more people embracing blogging to inform and educate customers on the latest business, technology solutions as well as trends.”

Mr Haileleul added, “As we work towards empowering every person and every organization to achieve more, access to information plays a vital role on the journey towards ensuring that more and more people are well informed and the power of technology provides that vital access to this content.”

BAKE Chairperson Kennedy Kachwanya commended Microsoft for supporting the awards for the third time. “We are grateful for the support that companies like Microsoft have given the blogging community and we are looking forward to more collaborations.”

He also added that; ”In a bid to support the creation of local content in more topic areas, we introduced 3 categories this year, i.e. Environment, Beauty and Hair and Video Blog (Vlog)”.
