Applications open for seedstars wildcards SA

Seedstars World is a Switzerland-based startup competition that takes place in emerging markets that runs 65+ local competitions where we identify the best seed-stage startups, give them pitch training and award the winners with an opportunity to compete in the Seedstars Summit where one of them will be crowned Seedstars World Global Winner.

The seven startups that participated in  Jo’burg and Capetown will be joined by a further three from around the country in a South Africa-wide final on June 29 – the winner of which will proceed to the global finals in Switzerland to compete against other regional winners for up to US$500,000 in equity investment.

“We have been very pleased with the quality of the startups in Johannesburg and Cape Town. We want to give the opportunity to the rest of South African entrepreneurs to compete at Johannesburg finals thanks to the wild card. We look forward to finding the last competitors of this final which look already very promising” says Claudia Makadristo, regional manager for Africa at Seedstars World.

Applications are open to startups from outside the Western Cape and Gauteng, here, until June 20.
