AfriLabs Elects new Board members.

Founded in 2011 AfriLabs has become one of the Largest network of hubs in Africa, of which this means the pan-African movement consists of more than 50 African hubs in over 20 countries.

Afrilabs Hubs Network

On Tuesday the 28th of March 2017, Afrilabs held its Board Elections and it later announced new five members into ints board who will happen to replace the previous members in a few weeks to come. Afrilab’s new board has been dedicated to enhancing the growth of technology and innovation ecosystem in their immediate communities having served in various capacities over the years in their specific tech hubs.

There is still so much work to be done in the African tech ecosystem and I know that with the new leadership, the AfriLabs network  will continue to grow and thrive while contributing its quota to the social and economic development of Africa.’’ – Anna Ekeledo, Head Of Secretariat, AfriLabs said

Afrilab believes in its new leadership board and it states that they are confident in the board and hope the team will surpass what they gave as output and expectations of the other team members.

“The membership elected one of the strongest teams in the history of AfriLabs. We’re confident they will surpass all our expectations. We wish them well”- Michael Oluwagbemi, Outgoing Board Chair said. “Serving on AfriLabs board was one of the greatest honours of my life. I relished the experiences of seeing ecosystems develop, economies taking off, engaging global developmental organisations and funders. ” He added.

The New Team consist of:

  • Rebecca Enonchong (Board Chair, AfriLabs – Activ Spaces, Cameroun)
  • Bernard Chiira (Board Secretary, AfriLabs – iBiz, Kenya)
  • Rakoroarivo Noharintsafidy Sarobidy (Board Treasurer, AfriLabs – HABAKA Hub, Madagascar.)
  • Regina Mbodj (Francophone Representative, AfriLabs –  CTIC Dakar, Senegal.)
  • Nekesa Were (Board Member, AfriLabs – iHub, Kenya)

Quoting the Newly elected Board Chair,  Rebecca Enonchong

On other news, Afrilabs is holding a training for startups and the founders in Lagos on 8th from 11 am to 4 pm in conjunction with  Microsoft Bizpark.
