- In 2000 Microsoft released Direct X 8 and a test bed allowing the reg of domain names in Korean , Japanese and Chinese Launched. The test bed created allowed the use of second level domain in non English but still would use .org .com .net and top level domains.
- In 2004 Microsoft game studios released the first person shooter hello2 for Xbox and version 1.0 of Firefox browser was released, it was the browser’s 1st public release, it was created by Dave Hyatt and Blake Ross.
