South Africa’s Webtickets launches a one-click ticket purchasing app

Webtickets, South Africa’s market leader in integrated online ticketing solutions, recently launched the first integrated, one-click ticket purchasing app in South Africa to give customers the ability to scan in events and purchase tickets with one click, whilst still ensuring purchasing safety and integrity.

“We set out to offer our customers a mobile ticketing app experience that takes its cues from companies like Uber. We specifically developed the app so that purchasing tickets could be done quickly and safely, which are the major challenges within the ticketing industry. Customers can preload their credit card details, or several of them, onto the encrypted platform, and use the app as a wallet to purchase tickets.  Purchasing tickets now takes one-click as all the payment details have already been pre-loaded,” says Jonathan Wayne, Co-Founder of Webtickets.

As the purchase of tickets is a spontaneous purchasing decision for most consumers, Webtickets has developed another feature that makes the conversion of ticket sales even easier.  Within the app, consumers are now able to scan in the QR code accompanying the marketing of an event, whether it be in a magazine, on a poster or a PC screen, and the app will take them directly to that specific event, where tickets will be added to their basket and payment can be made with one click. Wayne adds, “We aimed to make the App as intuitive as possible and to provide an amazing customer experience for our customers when purchasing tickets. Customers will also be able to store their tickets on their phone and retrieve them without having to be online.

According to Christy Turner, Co-Founder of Webtickets,

“When we set out to develop this application for Webtickets, our goal for the mobile app was to create a multi-touch booking function that was convenient for customers and event organisers alike. It also had to cut down on ticket administration, save time and ultimately, be a fast and easy way to buy tickets when you’re on the go.”

“As ticketing and e-commerce internationally are migrating to mobile platforms, this has been the next natural step in meeting our clients’ needs and ensuring a more effective, safe and convenient way for them to buy and sell tickets within our market. Since we launched our app in March, we have had great feedback and the uptake has been very positive” adds Turner
