Started in 2016, this Nigerian ed-tech startup has been changing the lives of undergraduate, masters and PhD students in Nigeria by allowing them to search for scholarships opportunities across the world matching each individuals strengths through a mobile and web platform called ScholarX, is expanding to Ghana in partnership with AB Review, operators of Africa Schools Online and Quick Apply Africa.
Approximately 10,000 students have used the platform so far, accessing over 10,000 scholarships as well as expert advice on the application process.
It was developed so as to help those who could not afford the high cost of university education.
The impact of the app on higher education has been incredible and Bola Lawal, co-founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of ScholarX believes that the integration is a perfect fit as they leverage on AB Review’s great reputation built in Ghana over the years through its brands and also by helping African youths access local and foreign based higher education funding opportunities.
The timeline for full implementation of the partnership is one month.
“ScholarX has come at an opportune time to aid students. Ghanaian students can now access this useful app and all its benefits through this timely partnership”, said Abel Ohene Acquaye, AB Review’s Executive Director.
We cannot wait for ScholarX to be available to each African student as this will push for great ties between local and international universities and promoting higher education to another level.
