Incubate Africa

Repetition in the Ecosystem should now be rendered Extinct

I’m sure many of us have seen all around there is a couple of duplicate entries in the Tech Innovation scene around the world,  I am primarily not against that it really enhances idea and learning curve growth, market growth and the ecosystem growth. Having many concerns or perhaps the real main deal is, have we really lost it in the idea search and implementation?  Like our Ecosystem is really flogged in some certain areas, the developers and founders are all in the mindset of investors – what I mean us that they are afraid of risks, The risk to venture into the unknown field. Yes I love the fact that they have seen a potential in a particular

Yes, I love the fact that they have seen a potential in a particular side of the ecosystem, but even before the sector matures it has already faced an exhaustion in ideas, a really big leap in achieving its goals as a sector: The E-commerce zone, Taxi-hailing, Fintechs, job recruiting, “Social Influencers “… you name it.  Let me simplify this for some, In your country how many blogs do gossip? a huge number, yes why? gossip drives traffic and sooner or later money and fame if you jumped on the right boat.  I love the adversity but we really need gear our minds as developers, founders, investors and mentors, For quite Africa has received so much of Interest from the global cooperations ever asked yourself why? ever asked them why?  We have the untapped, the unseen potential, we have a sandbox full of Ideas ready to face implementations, but between you and the plan execution is what we call the scrambled land  The adrenaline and the forces in and out pressure you, mix you up. Let me drive you back before I began Incubate Africa,  Even still up to now people still call me “just a blogger”, I used to outsource the ideas of what I would blog about and everyone tells me a different opinion ‘Sports, fashion, art, photography and blah blah blah’ reasons why? they have seen the untapped potential in the areas and they think they could change and the fact that it’s the trend of the day or time.

With all the Ideas I gained I realised, I like what they’ve told me but would or practically is this something I really love ( the topics). No! so In my scrambled region, i looped back from the original Idea and the Plan and as time went I had the best Plan, because I had to filter and I came upon something I can’t be Tired of, and that’s Technology.  The same really applies to us as developers, I believe that’s where most tech startups begin. but we are faced by fear which should be embraced not feared again, so we end up looping the ideas. With Entrance of Jumia, I believe so many e-commerce sites have come in handy to sort out your needs as the consumer, we have even modernised them to Drone Delivery like Sendy and Pay on Delivery, schemes to make the E-commerce scene grow.  But do you realise the more you crowd-scene the sector the more it’s rendered useless like Webdesign nowadays? The Sector has become so crowded that even thieves den in them to lure you into meeting and your the consumer ‘gets the purchase you came for’ now see this, the rumours will spread and the e-commerce site will fade and make the trust for the sector die or perhaps let the bigwigs rule ie Konga, Jumia e.t.c so What I believe here it that we lack originality, we duplicate because we see potential but was that your original Idea?  you happen to born Ideas

But do you realise the more you crowd-scene the sector the more it’s rendered useless like Webdesign nowadays? The Sector has become so crowded that even thieves den in them to lure you into meeting and your the consumer ‘gets the purchase you came for’ now see this, the rumours will spread and the e-commerce site will fade and make the trust for the sector die or perhaps let the bigwigs rule ie Konga, Jumia e.t.c so What I believe here it that we lack originality, we duplicate because we see potential but was that your original Idea?  you happen to born Ideas between your start and Implementation which ruins you.

Take into example again, Taxi hailing – this was one of the most thriving businesses quite sometime back when Uber came, Yes they did set the pace very well for our market as Africans all we had to do is take a ride in and perhaps two or three replicas to come in and about then plan on expanding into territories just like Uber. But  we missed the point of the ecosystem, what it wanted us to learn, Kenya has more than 5 taxi-hailing companies  and some few 3 or so doing motorbikes hail, now sometime Last year  Sendy and Taxify were set to exit the Taxi hailing business, Now this returns you to the drawing board again, Today Night also I saw a website down TekeTaxi, a company we wrote about even before the beta rolled out.

Now Let’s go to the Backend specialists, these people are the motor of a startup, but they are mostly soaked up in trends, who is the guy/lady,  what framework did what and forget the sole purpose. Now Kotlin is Officially the Language to develop Android, announced this year, woooooh! there goes your developer Developed Android in Java for some time your mobile application as a startup is about to be rolled out then they hit you with, ‘ This application’s support  won’t last for long now that the language f or developing the Android applications has changed’ they barely know a thing apart from the name kotlin, they stagnate your beta launch with their need to learn a  new language in order ‘to make your company up to date‘.  So your startup and its innovation has to wait and the more you wait, the more things roughen up and your idea dies maybe. In short, I mean don’t get soaked up trying to advance the languages than trying to improve what you have started, Like remember users don’t give a shit about the language used.

We have a tendency to go for what thrives in the market and forget to cook what can accelerate what’s thriving, or introduce a new game changer.  The localhost game is so rampant that you forget online exists, Investors are interested in your startup value, how you value your Idea, what impact will it create and for how long and will it create revenue so you just cultivate the idea, do the demo that’s what’s important and let the external eyes  see what they can add on your platform, a good example is Messenger, there go the bots,  the payments now, the live videos.
