MYDawa.com, the first online prescription store in Kenya is set to launch on March 28th 2017, whose main aim is to help Kenyans access genuine and quality products at affordable prices through convenient and fast delivery services where one’s personal information and medication history is kept private and safe. MYDawa features a unique track and trace mechanism that consumers can use to verify authenticity of products from source to avoid counterfeits being sold to customers.
This is how it works:
- Browse the wide range of products, select what you need and add it to your shopping cart.
- If you require prescription only medication, attach a photo or a scan of the prescription. Once uploaded, our pharmacists will verify the details and get back to you with an order summary in no time.
- Proceed to checkout, view the items in your cart and select your preferred collection point
- Next, choose your preferred payment option and complete your order. You will receive an SMS or email notification confirming your order, location and delivery time.
The service, a first of it’s kind, assures quality and gives consumers value for their money for medicine purchased. MYDawa aims to bridge the gaps between healthcare providers and patients thus improving quality and cost of care.
Mr O’Leary, Founder of MYDawa said, “We chose Kenya for this because the environment is right. Kenyans are not afraid to tackle problems and adopt to solutions that fit their needs. Look at the example of the M-Pesa, a world leading innovation that is ever relevant even 10 years after it’s inception.”
As part of its pre-launch activities MYDawa is carrying out a series of educational workshops with healthcare professionals Doctors, Clinical Officers, Pharmacists, and Pharmaceutical Technologists.
Nairobi residents can now access and sign up for free on MYDawa.com or download the MYDawa app from the Google Play Store.
