Mettā’s accelaration programme launched in Nairobi
Mettā is an entrepreneurs’ club that connects people, ideas and resources. We believe that by bringing startup communities and ecosystems closer together, great things can happen.
The metta’s accelaration programme which sets to host an industry-specific workshop each month, bringing together industry experts, mentors and corporates to help entrepreneurs running promising early stage startups to accelerate growth and take their businesses to the next level.
The first programmestars in February (15 – 24) and will focus on education and edtech.
“We are launching the Catalyst Programme to help connect experts, mentors, corporates and startups in a productive and structured manner. The initiative is geared towards nurturing innovators and facilitating focused dialogue between stakeholders in the wider ecosystem, spurring the sharing knowledge, experiences and expertise while creating a plethora of collaborative opportunities,” says Maurice Otieno, ecosystem development lead for Africa at Mettā.
The February programme consists of four half-day sessions, each focusing on a different key theme: business modelling and idea crystallisation; UX and market research; financial modelling; and team hiring and retention.
Each Catalyst Programme will be assesed on the Demo Day, giving the selected startups the opportunity to showcase their innovations and interact with ecosystem stakeholders.
With the March programme also on the way and the dates not announced , this progrmme will focus on urban living and property tech; and the April edition is dedicated to artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain and data.
