LASPOTECH’s drones providing aerial security surveillance for Lagos State Government

It was during the Lagos State Polytechnic (LASPOTECH) 25th Convocation Ceremony that a ground breaking innovation was unveiled and received high praise and support for the innovation by the Governor from the Lagos State Government, Akinwunmi Ambode  who was speaking during the ceremony.

The drones main aim is to to provide aerial security surveillance for the state and institution using it’s very own locally built drones by  the Arts and Design, and Engineering Students and staff in partnership with the International College of Aeronautics and Aviation Studies and will be capable of securing the institution’s campus and the State.

If you visit the site you can see the process for yourself and it will definitely leave you amazed by the high level of creativity and innovation bone that has sparked  over the past few years in the various African countries regarding how technology has been used to improve our lives positively.

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode further stated his Government would do everything within its power to promote and fund the drone project as a way of encouraging those involved

It’s highly commendable that the Nigerian Government is employing drones for this purpose. Drones are more affordable, easy to operate and can cover more grounds. If used effectively by security agencies, crimes may be on the decrease in the State. This should empower other states around Africa to borrow this idea and realize how much technology is the key to a better future.
