Kenya’s EatOut Rasises $500,000 from Craft Silicon

EatOut a Kenyan Based tech and media company for restaurant hunt has received an Investment of $500,000 from Craft Silicon, a Fintech Innovator based in Nairobi.  Founded in 2010 EatOut has been able to act as one of the best Restaurant search database providing detailed information from pictures to directions and Menus and also acting as a website for restaurants with no sites.

Craft Silicon has been a great player in the Kenyan tech industry mostly in mobile banking and money sector,  “Over the last one year we have been testing and integrating our mobile payments and loyalty platform with several partners. In taking this big step forward we wanted a partner that could bring a wealth of industry expertise. The Craft Silicon team has been working with us since inception and we are delighted that they share our vision,” Mikul Shah said.

“EatOut has received the investment because it is about to launch its game-changing new technology in the payment and money industry.” said Craft Silicon CEO, Kamal Budhabhatti.

This is not the first time that EatOut has received Investment, In 2013 Africa Media Ventures, a Dutch venture capital fund invested $200,000 in the company.

The new EatOut App will allow diners to pay for their meals through their mobile phone. The mobile solution is also being integrated into several local banking apps thanks in large part to support from Craft Silicon. EatOut’s move into the payments space through its app makes the investment by Craft Silicon particularly strategic.
