The IoT (internet of things)  is one of the next biggest en-devours in technology. Basically IoT turns our world into a cyber physical space enabling inter networking and exchange of data between this devices be it cars, buildings, smart homes and anything electronically enabled.

This is another spectrum and another generation of innovation creating opportunities for the businesses and startups to come up with new solutions and technological improvements. Africa having a couple of countries that are always on the lime light when it comes to Technology, each being on the race to be the silicon Valley of Africa: South Africa (54 active tech hubs) , Nigeria (23 active tech hubs) , Kenya (27 active tech hubs), Morocco (21 active tech hubs), Egypt ( 28 active tech hubs) according to GSMA, these countries being the top hot beds for startup acceleration.

The IoT has the potential to solve many of the issues the African continent is currently facing. And many African countries have already embarked on the IoT journey.  

The potential is limitless. As technology advances and encroaches upon most people’s day-to-day lives in some shape or form, people can expect more IoT enabled solutions that address the unique issues facing Africa.
