Innovations Against Poverty (IAP) Fund applications now open
Innovations Against Poverty is a specialised fund with the specific mandate to identify and support innovative Inclusive Business models that deliver both commercial benefits for the private sector and developmental benefits for the low-income population while advancing the inclusion and economic empowerment of women and youth. The program is designed for companies which are based, or operate in Cambodia, Ethiopia, Uganda and Zambia and are active in the target sectors in rural or urban areas. The fund will have 2 rounds of calls in 2017.
IAP has specialised in the following sectors, ICT, Energy WASH*(Water, Sanitation and Hygiene), Agriculture & Food.
Applications have opened for the second edition of the Innovations Against Poverty (IAP) Fund, which offers financial support to companies based in Ethiopia, Uganda, Zambia and Cambodia operating in the sectors of agriculture and food, energy, water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH), and ICT will be funded by Swedish International Development Cooperation) and managed by SNV Netherlands Development Organisation in partnership with Inclusive Business Sweden and BoP Innovation Center.
The Innovations Against Poverty Fund challenges the private sector to develop products, services and business models that can contribute to the fight against poverty and climate change.
It is a specialised fund with the specific mandate to identify and support innovative Inclusive Business models that deliver both commercial benefits for the private sector and developmental benefits for the low-income population.
Funding of between EUR50,000 (US$53,000) and EUR200,000 (US$213,000) is on offer, while companies will also be offered advisory support to develop and roll out their solutions.
This support will come from international and local specialists in inclusive business development, finance, and innovation, while support will also be available from locally associated consultants.
The first call for applications will launch on 24th of March 2017.
