Announced sometime last week, BongoHive has partnered with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to provide startups that have been through a BongoHive program with free hosting services on their Amazon Web Service platform.
The offer from Amazon Web Services to BongoHive startups includes:
- free access to AWS and tools via AWS promotional credits (approx. 2 years)
- free and discounted access to various online training modules and labs
- access to an AWS technical engineer for follow-up advising as needed via skype
- option to be featured in AWS marketing channels (podcast, blog, social media, etc.), subject to AWS marketing approval
To gain access to the credits, interested startups without an AWS account must create one and then contact our consult team (Silumesii Maboshe, Francis Lombe, Mbuyu Makayi) at itsupport@bongohive.co.zm with their AWS ID number, the name of their startup and website address. Startups already on AWS can also take advantage of this offer.
“There are still a lot of teams we encounter that are yet to realize the value of building their products or services on scalable and reliable cloud infrastructure as opposed to hosting plans that can be restrictive,” said Simunza Muyangana, BongoHive co-founder and head of entrepreneurship.
“We believe that the training bundled with this opportunity for startups to access AWS infrastructure and support will not only help startups save costs but help their teams build capacity on the right kind of platforms.”
Amazon Web Services division has become one of the go-to places for startups looking for hosting and other services for their apps and other business. Today, Amazon already has a number of startups from around the world using its services, from relative unknowns to high-profile names like Spotify and Pinterest.
