Spark* International, an initiative of Australian international development non-profit YGAP, has opened applications to its Spark* South Africa 2018 Accelerator Programme. The five-day programme will take place in Johannesburg between 15 and 20 April.
Spark * is looking out for South African Startups who Have already launched an enterprise that is making a difference in the lives of South Africans (by improving education, health, homes or creating good jobs) and Want to scale their enterprise to impact many more people.
Programme participants will receive post-programme training and support as well as access to business coaches, mentors, lawyers, accountants and research assistants for 12 months.
In addition, participants will also be able to continually apply for small grants of up to R10 000. Selected entrepreneurs will be moved into a growth track where they will be provided with access to grants of up to $AUD25 000.
Spark* aims to find, accelerate, support and connect startups. Since the initiative launched in 2011, it has gone on to support 295 entrepreneurs. The organization claims 90% of its entrepreneurs have doubled their “impact” and revenue.
