Applications are now open for the 1776 Challenge
Applications for the 1776 challenge are now open for applications, calling applicants from 75 cities in the world, this is to identify the top local startups who will compete at the challenge cup global final to held in New york. The challenge will offer startups with access to pitch-coaching, industry advice, and key connections with the right people to help you scale in your industry and an access to the UNION during the competition.
Applications will take place in different countries that also include Africa, among the mentioned cities include:
- Accra, Ghana: May 27, 2017, Application Close: May 5, 2017
- Addis Ababa, Ethiopia
- Kampala, Uganda
- Nairobi, Kenya: August 22, 2017, Application Close: July 28, 2017.
The competition is set to tackle specific areas and for you to take part you have to meet the criteria given out: Your startup has to be tackling emerging industrial technologies in Cities, Education, Energy, Food, HealthMoneySecurityTransportationBlockchainArtificial Intelligence, Robotics/Automation, it must be a profitable business, the product created must be scalable, your startup must be beyond the idea stage with a pilot program, funding must be below $2.5M USD in venture at the time of application, Revenue of the company should be $3M USD during the booking date and your location is not tied to region affiliation (If you’re based in Jinja but want to compete in Kampala, go for it).
