Social Startups Flip, the Digital comic and local book store launches By Incubate Africa Posted on February 20, 2017 4 min read 0 0 So to be totally honest, I never knew we had comic books in an African Edition, let alone that I never knew we had the superpowers in the comic books :), we are kings of word of mouth stories. So today morning I happened to land on a rare thing, an African Digital library a rare commodity since I started being interested in Technology about Africa. FLIP a Nigerian Based and Developed Application provided by Iconcept Ng: a leading provider of mobile content, marketing and technology solutions – is basically a digital library for local books and comics, which has launched with the aim of making digital distribution and monetization easier for local authors and publishers. It has its Perks and benefits you know, just to say I love this Flip thing, It’s easily accessible no need to install the phone application for you to access the books since, it’s also available and accessible through their website provided you have an active phone number. On the Pricing plan FLIP also nailed it. No need to fill up your credit details and a bunch of personal information just to purchase, that’s tiresome so, FLIP has it this way, After a successful sign-up and subscription, the readers are billed through the airtime balance provided your number is Active. My bad for other countries not going by the name Nigeria, 🙁 I think FLIP has to expand on this for comic fanatics and authors in other African states, just to make us feel fit in the bracket. You realize I am just leaning on the Comic side, don’t feel so bad and say FLIP is comic centralized no it’s not, that’s me, FLIP covers a bunch of different categories just for you the African reader.
