Applications for WAMAS 2017 Now Open
WAMAS stands for WEST AFRICA MOBILE AWARDS and applications for the most recognized industry awards in 2017 that celebrate the best in mobile and technology across West Africa is now open for registration.
The identity, recognition and celebration of the key players and investors involved in the regions mobile ecosystem are awarded through this ceremony.
Its inaugural event took place last year in Lagos,Nigeria which saw various global brands, dynamic startups and visionary individuals, who are all shaping mobile content and commerce in West Africa and meeting international standards of service and delivery , scoop the awards.
It’s going to be a night where the leading women, men, and organizations that form the backbone of the mobile industry in West Africa will be recognized across 12 categories and will see the finalists enjoy global industry recognition, invaluable networking opportunities and global publicity.
The shortlisted finalists will be showcased during day two of Mobile West Africa, providing a platform and exposure for successful entries for this years edition. The winners will receive loads of benefits paired with more and more professional consultation from industry players to help them drive their businesses forward.
Due to the massive numbers of entries in 2016 and progress that industry is making Mathew Dawes, WAMAS co-founder, said “We cannot wait for this year’s entries to come flooding in and because it’s a free to enter competition so we urge more and more people to come showcase what they have and you never know it, You can be the one with the prize on the podium with a bright idea so don’t sit on it.”
Applications for the awards are free, ensuring equal opportunity for each applicant. An expert judging panel that includes industry leaders, independent journalists, analysts, academics and VCs will assess all entries.
The process will be completely comprehensive, exhaustive and systematic, meaning that the awards and the processes surrounding them are fully transparent.
The winners will be unveiled in front of a packed audience of industry peers, respected judges, sponsors, media and partners on May 18, 2017 in Lagos, Nigeria.
